AHMED
Ahmed picked up the fat man’s empty cup to find a pound coin on the saucer. He looked out the window but the fat man was gone. It wasn’t very often they got tips.
“Thank you,” said the man in the suit as he took his little bag of doughnuts and left.
“Look at this,” Ahmed said, holding up the saucer.
“Where’d you find that?” Nita asked.
“The fat man left it on the table.”
Nita laughed. “He was the last person I thought would leave a tip. What was his problem?”
“I didn’t have a problem with him. He seemed perfectly friendly to me. Here, put this in the till.”
Nita took the pound coin.
NOTES:
Not much I can say about these two short sections. Like most of the shop assistants, they exist solely to move the coin along to someone completely unrelated to the last bearer and who's not going to be stuck behind a counter until 5pm. Though I do continue to hint what Dean's issues were about.
