PHOTOGRAPHS

Southend seafront, from the east end of the Golden Mile (which is actually twice that length, wouldn't you know?), heading toward Thorpe Bay, Shoebury, y'know, the nice part of town. I think that's the dome of the famous Kursaal (in which I have never actually been - what's in there, anyway?) directly above the sea wall. To the left of the photo there is the first few hundred feet of Southend Pier, and to the right of the photo is a big bin. The beach here consists entirely of imported shingle. For the nice sandy beach you have go several miles further around into Shoeburyness.
