We were seated just behind the wing, so got a good view beneath us in general. I remember the people sitting a couple of rows in front of us being incensed that they'd paid good money for a flight over Essex, only to be unable to see anything because of the wing. The cabin crew placated them with the promise of a visit to the flight deck. Of course, the plane was full of aeroplane enthusiasts who now felt short-changed that they couldn't visit the pilots, so that became a general invitation. I didn't take it up. I thought it'd be best if we didn't disturb the driver when we were hurtling through the air with several thousand feet of nothing beneath us.
